ICSS Modification for ATR steam purge nozzle upgrade and Damper control problems project

An EPIC contract for the upgrade of an Integrated Control and Safety System for a GTL plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City has been successfully carried out by GAS.

GAS’s scope under the EPIC contract included:

  • Execution Methodology.
  • FAT/SAT Procedure.
  • Modified System Configuration Printout.
  • Red line mark up on the Logic diagram after the implementation.
  • Updated ICS Database and nest loading.
  • Updated Operating & maintenance manual, Asbuilt documentation.
  • Spare Capacity Calculation / CP / IO Loading .
  • Site Survey, Adequacy check and report, Supply of IA Foxboro and Triconex SIS Hardware, Software modification, testing, Hardware installation, commissioning, associated cable laying and wiring .
  • FAT, SAT and Start-up support.
  • Technology : IA Foxboro DCS and Triconex SIS .
  • Sector : Oil and Gas .

ICSS Modification for Plant wide Maintenance Override Switch philosophy implementation and Single point of failure to avoid plant trip

An EPIC contract for the upgrade of an Integrated Control and Safety System for a GTL plant in Ras Laffan Industrial City has been successfully carried out by GAS.

GAS’s scope under the EPIC contract included:

  • Changes to the DCS include High and Low alerts, deviation alarms between the SIS and DCS transmitters, transmitter re-rangement, and range clamping to prevent I/O problems.
  • SIS updates to switch the voting logic from the default (1oo1) mode to the appropriate (2oo2 or 2oo3) mode.
  • Redundancy of transmitters will be added by modifications, increasing the trip transmitters' availability and dependability.
  • Shall create the necessary deliverables to carry out the suggested changes.
  • Organize and lead meetings for detail design reviews when all design requirements are examined and approved.
  • Should produce thorough software configuration specifications for IA Foxboro DCS and SIS Triconex controller MOS philosophy changes. The precise software configuration definition makes use of the SIS and DCS's advantages and built-in capability to make the software configuration easy to use and maintain
  • The relevant Instrument logic diagram, loop diagram, auxiliary console designs, and nest loading should be redlined with the necessary adjustments.
  • Will assess the site and determine the new Foxdraw HMI screen that has to be developed.
  • Specifically for MOS overrides and impacted PT compensated flows, must update the operational procedures.
  • Offline implementation using test setup for simulation and testing.
  • Shall facilitate FAT and SAT with appropriate functional test procedures.
